Sometime ago, you could simply post content
for your marketing in a simple manner on social media and start raking in the
cash. Well, not anymore. Times have changed and if you don’t adjust, you will
be left behind.
Back in 2017 when the whole idea of
affiliate marketing, freelancing and online entrepreneurship were still
relatively new and not as publicized as they are today, anyone could pick a
niche, sign up to an affiliate program, create content revolving around their
product and boom!!! They’ve made a sale.
Well, this isn’t the case anymore. In this
present day, simply posting content about your product niche or affiliate
product on social media simply won’t do anything like it would before.
We all owe this pleasure and situation to
the mass publicizing of internet side hustles, freelancing and affiliate
marketing by YouTube channels and TikTok. This has brought about a whole bunch
of competitors who do not know what their doing and slander these business
models.
For example, a brilliant affiliate
marketing strategy was joining Facebook groups that contain an audience for your
target niche and promoting your product to them, helping them solve their
problems at a profit to you. Everyone was happy. When you practice this
strategy, you even get comments like “thanks a lot”, “that was really helpful”,
“you are a life saver” and so much more.
But now, that this brilliant strategy has
been publicized, trying this strategy is very risky. This is because as opposed
to the comments that I mentioned before, you’ll get comments like; “admin do
your job”, “why is there so much spam in this group”, “why do the admins
approve these kinds of posts” and much more.
This is only because so many people are out
there, doing this same thing, creating a bad name and making the process a
whole lot harder for others.
This is why posting on social media like
you would back in 2017 can’t get you anymore sales. (it still can but only If
you are lucky which you probably aren’t).
Most people still don’t get this fact even
till this day and this is why you see so many beginners who haven’t put any
thought into it or sat down to have a good think about it say things like
“affiliate marketing is dead”, “my niche is too saturated” and so on.
My answer to those will always be NO IT IS
NOT, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE ALL YOU DO IS MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO.
Most of these people just watch YouTube
videos to find a marketing strategy, they don’t even think about how to improve
or make the strategy unique, all they do is copy and paste because they don’t
want to put in any effort but they want to see results. If you are that kind of
person please, abstain from it.
One thing you need to always keep at the
back of your mind when you go to YouTube or other social media platforms to
find a strategy is that any strategy you find on YouTube isn’t going to work
and be useful to you unless it is one that doesn’t involve social media. You
should always know that anyone out there can replicate such a strategy. And
then, a million-dollar strategy can become worthless.
Just so you have an idea, do you know the
amount of people who have seen that same YouTube video strategy that you are
planning to copy? Thousand, probably millions.
I AM NOT TRYING TO CRITICIZE THE
PUBLICIZATION OF BUSINESS MODELS AND STRATEGIES ON SOCIAL MEDIA. After all,
this publicization has changed many lives and helped a lot of people achieve
financial freedom including myself.
All I’m
trying to say is that simply copying and pasting like back then would not work
anymore.
(this is probably why I laugh when I see
titles like “copy my million-dollar strategy”).
I want you to also know that watching YouTube
videos to get strategies is not a bad idea. Don’t simply copy and paste.
WHAT THEN SHOULD I DO? You may ask.
Here is what I am currently doing.
Note: this is not a strategy it is just an
advice and you cannot simply copy and paste. All I’m doing is giving you an
idea of what you should do. (this is how YouTube videos ought to be not the
copy and paste kind that don’t really work)
1.
Don’t discard the ideas on YouTube
videos simply because they may have been publicized, listen to them and find
out if any good can come out of them or if they can be of use to you in any
way. I personally check out this videos, making sure not to copy the exact
strategy like many others and I select the desirable qualities from the
strategy to use them later on.
2.
I outline the major and minor
flaws of the strategy and capitalize on how I can improve or negate them.
3.
I add my very own touches to
it. Like a little personalization, mood lightener etc. and then, I make it
completely mine, creating a brand-new strategy from an already publicized copy
and paste strategy.
THIS MY DEAR FRIEND IS HOW YOU CAN GET
AHEAD OF THE CROWD. Knowing that posting alone and copying strategies are
mundane is a good way to start your journey ahead of others and also, being
unique with your marketing lets you stand out more and increases your chances
of profit and making your impact.
